August 1, 2024. Dragoon's Coriolis UAS, a long-endurance, low-cost, small UAS being developed for NOAA and others has completed a series of initial test flights. In the NOAA mission, the Coriolis will fly from land into hurricanes and other extreme weather, providing long dwell weather data, including from low altitude regimes that are currently difficult to access. The aircraft is inexpensive enough to be utilized in a single flight, allowing the most data to be collected for the lowest cost. Dragoon expects to be flying far offshore in the Gulf of Mexico in 2025.
